“Navoiyuran”: A New Stage in Uranium Exploration

In recent years, several amendments have been made to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Subsoil.” These changes directly impact geological exploration, environmental safety, and uranium mining processes. The country’s one of largest state enterprises, SE “Navoiyuran,” which includes the scientific and production center “Geology of Uranium and Rare Metals,” is adapting its research to the new legislative requirements.

So, how do these legislative changes affect our activities? The recent innovations are aimed at more precise regulation of geological research and mining processes. Especially:

The subsoil usage procedure has been improved (mandatory environmental monitoring has been introduced for uranium exploration).
The licensing process has become more complex (additional expert assessments are required for uranium and other strategic minerals exploration).
Environmental safety measures have been strengthened (strict regulations on radiation monitoring and waste management have been implemented).
State control has increased (a more robust coordination system for uranium deposits and geological research has been established).
Rational resource utilization has begun (mining and geological exploration procedures have been developed in accordance with international standards).
This law sets several tasks for SE “Navoiyuran” and outlines measures for their implementation. The company is tasked with developing geological exploration and uranium mining based on international experience, efficiently organizing mining activities, and fully complying with environmental safety requirements. These tasks include:

Expanding uranium reserves and resources in 2025 by accelerating drilling operations in prospective areas and ore fields.
Implementing and using advanced innovative technologies in drilling and mining processes.
Ensuring environmental protection by improving monitoring systems in line with international environmental safety requirements.
Expanding and developing international cooperation with leading uranium-producing countries.
The scientific and production center “Geology of Uranium and Rare Metals” plans to carry out the following research projects in 2025, achieving several key results:

Identifying new strategically significant prospective areas through geological exploration, which will increase uranium reserves and projected resources.
Enhancing drilling efficiency and reducing costs through the application of new technologies.
Conducting advanced laboratory research and analytical studies for precise uranium and rare metal mineralization assessment.
Introducing an evaluation system for each stage of uranium mining from environmental and economic perspectives based on international standards.
The introduction of new legislation and modern technologies creates opportunities for SE “Navoiyuran” to achieve high positions on the international stage. In particular, the company is expected to be recognized as a reliable supplier in the global uranium market, establish a production process that meets international mining and environmental standards, improve uranium mining efficiency, and become one of the leading countries in energy security.

In conclusion, it is worth noting that in accordance with new legislative requirements, the geological research conducted by SE “Navoiyuran” is being gradually improved. This updated system will ensure not only increased uranium mining efficiency but also full compliance with environmental safety standards. As a result, SE “Navoiyuran” is expected to become one of the world’s largest uranium mining enterprises and achieve high rankings in global ratings.
