2024 ACTIVITY REPORT OF THE SULFURIC ACID PRODUCTION PLANT
The sulfuric acid production plant at the “Uchkuduk” production site was constructed and commissioned in 1985. Over nearly 40 years of operation, the plant has produced approximately 15 million tons of sulfuric acid. The product supports the technology of “Navoiuran” SE geotechnological mines, the hydrometallurgical plants of “NMMC” JSC, and the chemical-energy complex of Navoi region.
In 2024, the planned sulfuric acid production volume was 510,000 tons, while the actual production reached 525,000 tons, achieving 103% of the target.
Within the framework of the localization program and innovative projects, several activities were carried out in the plant, including:
Installation of 900XNG-5-5-M11/25G-9-2 model coolers for the drying and absorption section;
Deployment of sulfur melting unit for the sulfur melting unit;
Development of steam condensers to retain waste steam and save water;
Construction of heating and hot water supply system for buildings using waste steam to reduce production costs.
Additionally, a production line for polyethylene pipes using “Extruder” equipment was established to support geotechnological mines.
Currently, within the framework of the technical re-equipment projects, production equipment is being upgraded, and control instruments, automation, and automatic process control systems are being modernized. Furthermore, a program for the comprehensive recovery of valuable elements from production waste has been developed, including the creation of technology for extracting vanadium pentoxide from vanadium catalysts in laboratory conditions.
Similar projects will be continued in 2025, with plans to increase production volumes.
