Well-being and mental health

Employee well-being is a key priority for building sustainability in the mining industry, reflecting the complex balance between operational excellence, social responsibility, and environmental protection. In the challenging mining environment, giving high priority to employee well-being is not just a moral imperative, but also a strategic necessity.

To implement the objectives of ensuring the welfare and well-being of employees, the Company focuses on short-term and long-term goals that will facilitate the development of this agenda:

  • Developing a safety culture by enabling the employees to actively participate in hazard identification, risk assessment and safety improvement initiatives, striving for Zero Harm in all operations;
  • Implementing comprehensive wellness programmes that address physical, mental and emotional well-being, offering access to health services, wellness resources and support networks to improve the overall health of employees;
  • Providing comprehensive training and development opportunities that meet the career aspirations of employees and the needs of the Company, promoting the development of a culture of continuous learning and professional growth;
  • Creating an inclusive work environment that encourages diversity and promotes a sense of belonging for all employees, ensuring equal opportunities for career advancement and leadership roles;
  • Introducing mechanisms for constant communication, feedback and recognition so that employees feel valued, respected and motivated to make their own contributions to the Company;

Ensuring employee engagement: developing a sense of belonging and ownership through open communication channels, feedback mechanisms and employee recognition programmes, promoting employee collaboration and motivation.

Recognizing that employee health extends beyond physical safety, Navoiyuran has instituted comprehensive well-being programs as an integral part of its social responsibility. The company’s initiatives are designed to support resilience, work–life balance, and holistic wellness for employees and their families.

Core well-being measures include:

Accessible Healthcare Services: Free medical clinics staffed by licensed physicians and nurses provide routine check-ups, mental-health screenings, and chronic-disease management. Occupational health specialists conduct annual health assessments and ergonomic evaluations for office and field personnel.

Wellness Infrastructure: accessable fitness facilities include a gym, sports courts, and designated walking trails. Navoiyuran organizes regular internal fitness events—such as team sports tournaments—to promote physical activity and social interaction.

Flexible Work Arrangements: For administrative and office staff, flexible schedules and remote-work options are provided to accommodate family responsibilities and reduce commuting stress. Critical operational roles implement shift-rotation policies to prevent fatigue and ensure rest periods.

Family Support Program: childcare services, summer camps for employees’ children (1 600 participants in 2024), and parental-leave policies foster supportive family environments. Navoiyuran SE has allocated USD 389 600 to cover the summer camps costs.
