Uzbekistan entered the top 5 leaders in uranium mining
Navoiuran SE is developing 18 uranium deposits with three uranium mining divisions in the Navoi, Samarkand and Bukhara regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Natural uranium mining in the Central Kyzylkum region was first started in 1958 from the Uchkuduk deposit. Initially, mining was carried out by the mining method with further development of the industry at hydrogenic sandstone deposits, where the method of in-situ leaching was introduced. Thus, since 1994 all uranium mined in the Republic of Uzbekistan has been extracted by the in situ leaching method.
The diversity of hydrogeological conditions and material composition of ores of the developed deposits allowed the company to acquire rich experience in the selection of methods and technology for uranium leaching. This factor allows the company for many years to firmly hold positions in the world industry of natural uranium mining and export.
Navoiuran is the only uranium mining enterprise in Uzbekistan with more than 8400 employees. All uranium mining processes are constantly monitored by modern means of automation, and it is ensured that there is no negative impact on the environment, as well as high indicators in the sphere of production safety and occupational health and safety.
