“Navoiyuran” SE and Jordan’s JUMCO cooperate in the uranium mining
Navoiyuran State Enterprise has entered into formal discussions with Jordan’s Uranium Mining Company (JUMCO) to explore opportunities for joint cooperation in uranium mining and geological exploration. The initiative follows a directive from Uzbekistan’s Minister of Mining industry and geology – Chairman of Navoiyuran’s Supervisory Board B.F. Islamov, in his capacity, during the board meeting August 2025.
As part of this process, representatives of Navoiyuran’s Projects Office engaged in international business relation conducted series of virtual meetings with senior Jordanian officials, including Suleiman Quraan, Head of international relations and marketing projects at the Ministry of Investment, and JUMCO Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Al-Shannag’. These consultations led to the signing of a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), establishing the framework for secure exchanges of geological and technical data.
JUMCO, was established in 2013, Jordan’s national entity mandated to conduct the exploration and development of radioactive minerals, oversee uranium extraction, and facilitate the participation of foreign investors in the sector.
Within the framework of the NDA, both sides will jointly evaluate the geological potential of Jordan’s uranium deposits and examine prospects for advancing exploration activities. To this end, a working visit of “Navoiyuran” SE delegation to Jordan is planned, at the invitation of Jordanian counterparts, to study prospective uranium fields on the spot and to advance the dialogue on long-term partnership.
